Scientific background

The Higss particle or Higgs-Boson is an elementary particle that is considered an essential component of the standard model of particle physics. Therefore, huge efforts have been undertaken for its discovery, at Tevatron and specially at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) of the European Center of Nuclear Research CERN.
Yet, it is not sure whether the particle exists at all.
That's the reason for the bet.
